Asthma Care Page

Sandhills Pediatrics has made improving asthma care a major focus of our practice. The philosophy is simple: we teach children and their parents about asthma so they become partners with their doctors and gain control over this disease. We follow the current National Institute of Health guidelines. We expect all children to become almost symptom-free and to be able to participate in all childhood activities including sports.

Because we have been so successful at lowering emergency room visits and hospital admissions, our program has been used as a model for other practices. Our outcomes were published in May/June 2005 North Carolina Medical Journal.
